GOAL:
The United States military launches operations at NASA’s Cape Canaveral Air Force Base, and the facilities building automation systems are directly related to success of mission to launch and recover missions. mc2, a Stark Tech company, provides building automation system service to a majority of NASA’s buildings in Florida.

SCOPE:
The Building Automation System integrated at NASA by the engineering team at mc2 included:

  • Upgraded HVAC controls to maintain precise temperature and humidity within the building
  • New air handling units and chiller controls at the chilled water plant
  • Monitoring software for the new chiller and boiler plant
  • Special hyperbolic level monitoring with integration of massive ventilation systems to control air quality and exhaust

Buildings Supported:

  • Kennedy Space Center
  • Kennedy’s Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility (the support building for the new Mars Rover)
  • Vehicle Launch Building
